9. Scared Adisesh

Ekantika woke up feeling the warmth of the sun on her face. The gentle rays felt foreign on her skin, usually shielded by the cool shadows of her childhood home. She blinked, disoriented, and looked around, trying to make sense of her surroundings. Everything was new, unfamiliar.

Then she felt it a weight on her side, a warm, solid presence that was decidedly not a pillow. Her heart skipped a beat, her confusion deepening. Where was she? And who was sleeping on top of her?
